And additionally it could also be used as a tumor marker in some nontrophoblastic tumors. However, in Korea, there is no available data on those field, even in normal pregnant women.
In order to search normal level of the serum SP-1 level in pregnant women according to their gestation period, the authors collect 196 pregnant women¢¥s serum from Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the Chung-Ang University, College of Medicine, Hospital and Shin Young Soon Hospital. The serum SP-1 level were estimated by M partigen of the Behring Co.
The followings were ensued.
1) Although coefficient of variation were great, there was tendency of increase in serum level SP-1 during the early gestation period (up to the 20th weeks of ammenorrhea).
2) There were definitive evidence of increase in serum level of the SP-1 from 20th to 36th week of ammenorrhea.
3) There were plateau fron 37th to 40th week of ammenorrhea and the coefficiency of variance was great.
4) There were decreasing tendency in serum of SP-1 at 41st and 42nd weeks of ammenorrhea than that of 40th week of ammenorrhea.
